PACE prints Robert Nava’s monograph in 8 colors with Praline

PACE gallery commissioned Praline to design the first monograph for artist Robert Nava, focusing on his London exhibition "Thunderbolt Disco." The challenge was to create a high-impact book that could capture the energetic and vibrant nature of Nava's bold, bright neon paintings through vivid and accurate reproductions.

The solution from Praline involved a bold use of color and typography, printing the book in eight colors to achieve the required vivid accuracy. The design featured colored boards, contrasting foiling, and eye-popping endpapers. The book was heavily illustrated with artwork and included intimate elements like studio photos and tipped-in facsimiles of the artist's sketchbook pages. Praline delivered a result that the artist was delighted with, successfully creating a high-impact monograph that offered an intimate view into his creative process.
