Drexel University College of Nursing & Health Professions needed to move its disaster and emergency simulations online without losing the real-world practice that prepares students for clinical work. The college also wanted to close safety-knowledge gaps across undergrads, RN‑BSN and medical students, strengthen intra‑professional teamwork, and empower nurses to speak up and advocate for patients in critical situations.

They implemented the Practice platform, building a simulated video exercise based on a real case that placed students in the nurse’s role and required on-the-spot communication and decision-making. Students averaged 2.6 practice attempts before submitting a final video; the approach saved faculty time while deepening students’ teamwork and communication skills and increasing their confidence to speak up for patient safety.
