Improved Collaboration and More Time with Customers translates into Competitive Advantage for Nebraskan Agronomist

Agricultural Services, Inc. (ASI), a Nebraska-based agronomy services company with 7 locations, was spending too much time managing customer data in a home-grown MS Access system. As a result, employees were stuck at their desks instead of working in the field with customers, and management had limited visibility into work orders and collaboration across offices.

Practical Computer Applications (PCA) replaced ASI’s MS Access database with a custom Internet-enabled Smart Client solution, Field Tracker. The new system enabled real-time sharing of recommendations and scouting records across all locations, faster work order creation from the field, better resource management, and more customer face-time; ASI reported that work that once took days or even a week could now move from identification to implementation in minutes, with improved morale, productivity, and more consistent customer relationships.
