Church Pension Group, a New York–based nonprofit that provides benefits and insurance for Episcopal clergy and employees, discovered its initial project portfolio management tool did not meet organizational needs. The PMO ran a new vendor selection with 12 cross‑functional staff who tested several solutions and overwhelmingly chose Upland’s PowerSteering.
PowerSteering consolidated strategy, performance and budget data into a single platform and automated CPG’s Project Life Cycle across projects, ideation, resource and annual/multi‑year planning. The phased rollout shifted CPG from an IT‑centric implementation to cross‑functional resource planning, enabled better planning vs. actuals analysis, and leveraged lessons from the prior deployment for a smoother adoption.
