A PowerSchool Case Study
Monroe Public Schools, an eight-campus district in Monroe County, MI, needed a more consistent, proactive approach to student behavior after the pandemic. Leaders sought to address peer-to-peer mistreatment, align staff responses across grade spans, and break down data silos that hampered timely communication and equitable PBIS implementation.
The district implemented PowerSchool Behavior Support with phased training, a digital token economy, and schoolwide kindness and empathy initiatives, while using shared rubrics to set clear expectations. Within months they saw stronger communication and tracking, increased positive behavior points, a 25% reduction in district-wide suspensions, and at the secondary level a 42% drop in suspensions and 62% fewer expulsions.
