Parkland School District Drives Student Success with Data-Driven Decision-Making

Parkland School District in Allentown, PA, serves over 9,000 students across 11 schools and is recognized for strong academic performance (named a U.S. AP District of the Year and scoring 94% on the Pennsylvania School Performance Profile). To build on that success, the district sought to expand data-driven decision-making and needed a single, integrated system so teachers and administrators could access student, assessment and IEP information without switching between programs.

Parkland implemented PowerSchool’s integrated platform—bringing together student information, special education (IEPPLUS), assessment, curriculum, and HR/financial systems—and worked with PowerSchool on custom programming like a standards-based elementary report card. The result was seamless data crosswalks, earlier identification of students needing support through benchmarks and RTI, more dynamic curriculum development, incremental achievement gains, and greater confidence to launch strategic initiatives and engage the educational community.
