A PowerSchool Case Study
Oxford Community Schools, a southeastern Michigan district serving about 6,000 students (including an 850‑student virtual academy), needed to reverse declining enrollment by expanding K–12 and online offerings without adding technical staff. The district struggled with disparate ed‑tech tools that didn’t integrate, required multiple logins, and limited collaboration, communication, and seamless data transfer between seated and virtual classrooms.
Oxford implemented PowerSchool Student Information System and PowerSchool Learning to create a unified platform with single sign‑on, a shared calendar, and integrated data flow. With roughly 95% adoption, the district achieved greater teaching efficiency, individualized and paced instruction, improved teacher collaboration and parent engagement, cleaner shared data, and the ability to scale online learning without increasing support staff—delivering a clear return on investment.
