Memphis Rise Academy - Customer Case Study

Memphis Rise Academy, a public charter school in Memphis, Tennessee, faced a major challenge with its first graduating class: most students were first-generation college-goers navigating the application process for the first time, many faced financial barriers, and the pandemic disrupted typical in-person college admissions support. To help guide students, the school implemented Naviance by PowerSchool as part of its College, Career, and Life Readiness program.

With PowerSchool’s Naviance, Memphis Rise Academy tracked senior progress, supported college planning, and streamlined tasks like college rep visits, transcript sending, recommendation letters, and deadline management. The results were strong: 97 seniors submitted 297 applications to 90 institutions, about 219 acceptances were received from 71 colleges, over 90% of applicants were admitted, and 96% of eligible seniors applied for Tennessee Promise free tuition.
