A PowerSchool Case Study
Massapequa School District (NY), serving K–12 students across eight schools, struggled with disparate technology systems that hindered teacher collaboration, slowed administrative workflows, and made it hard to engage parents and support its 1:1 Chromebook initiative. The district needed a single, easy-to-use platform to centralize student data, streamline registration, and give teachers and families real-time access to academic information so they could better support student learning.
Massapequa adopted PowerSchool’s Unified Classroom—PowerSchool SIS with PowerTeacher, PowerSchool Learning (LMS) and Registration—integrated with Google Apps and single sign-on. The district gained one place for grading, attendance, online learning, and digital registration, freeing teacher time for instruction, enabling data-driven interventions, and improving parent communication. Outcomes include streamlined registration with fewer errors, high LMS adoption (85% usage for a non-mandated initiative), faster access to longitudinal student data, and stronger teacher–parent–student engagement.
