A PowerSchool Case Study
The American Community School (ACS) of Amman, Jordan — an international Pre‑K–12 school with about 520 students from 40+ nationalities — struggled with an antiquated, paper-based admissions process. Manual forms caused duplicate data entry for siblings, lost or misplaced files as applications moved between departments, hard-to-read handwriting, and heavy administrative burden on a one‑person admissions office, making it especially difficult for international families.
ACS implemented a customized PowerSchool Registration solution integrated with its student information system and teacher recommendations, adding features like sibling data “snapping,” batch email communications, a health-data filter, and payment tracking. The online system enabled anywhere/anydevice access, eliminated lost paperwork and repetitive entry, sped application processing, improved internal communication across departments, and reinforced the school’s technology-forward image for prospective families.
