How to Identify and Reach At-Risk Students with Performance Matters

Westfield Public Schools, a Massachusetts district of 11 schools serving 5,300+ students (about 14% EL), struggled to identify and support at-risk students because performance data lived in disjointed systems. They lacked a clean way to access intervention data, create custom reports, or use single sign-on, which prevented a comprehensive, contextual view of student performance.

By adding PowerSchool SIS and PowerSchool Performance Matters (Analytics and Assessment) and integrating SSO, Westfield consolidated assessment, attendance, behavior, and demographic data into a single visual dashboard and early-warning system. Teachers quickly adopted intuitive, ad-hoc visual reports and templates for EL plans, enabling faster, more meaningful interventions, simpler data dissemination, and seamless integration across PowerSchool products.
