A PowerSchool Case Study
Blue Mountain School District in Pennsylvania set out to raise student achievement but was hampered by fragmented edtech—separate SIS and LMS systems, paper-based curriculum binders, inconsistent instruction, and limited visibility into student performance—making it hard to tailor instruction or give families and teachers timely data.
The district implemented PowerSchool Unified Classroom (SIS, LMS, Assessment, Grading), PowerSchool Special Education, cloud hosting and is rolling out Finance/HR. Digitizing curriculum and assessments created a single source of truth, automated rosters and class pages, enabled standards-based, data-driven remediation, boosted parent engagement through portals, strengthened faculty collaboration, and produced operational efficiencies and cost savings to reinvest in student programs.
