Hernando County School District Improves Decision Making with Instant Access to Data

Hernando County School District (HCSD), a midsize suburban district in Brooksville, Florida serving 23 schools and about 22,000 students, needed a way to turn scattered assessment and student data into actionable insights. Siloed systems and manual information requests kept educators from using data consistently to differentiate instruction and make timely decisions.

HCSD implemented PowerSchool Performance Matters (Assessment, Analytics, and RTI/MTSS) to author and administer assessments, aggregate multiple data sources, and provide customizable reporting and filters. With instant, districtwide access to data, educators quickly identify at-risk students, target interventions, monitor progress, inform school improvement plans and resource allocation—and the district has seen steady gains on state tests and overall school performance.
