A PowerSchool Case Study
Fort Osage R-1 School District, serving nearly 5,000 students and about 780 staff in Independence, Missouri, needed to give employees easier purchasing access while preserving the controls required of a public school system. Cumbersome purchasing processes, frequent check printing and petty cash use, and administrative bottlenecks were tying up time that could be spent on student‑focused work.
The district implemented PowerSchool Unified Administration eFinancePlus (including the PCard module), a custom ePayables interface to the bank’s Visa system, and the eFinancePlus Employee Access Center. These changes eliminated petty cash and many paper checks, tightened financial security and audit trails, sped vendor payments, reduced purchasing and payroll workloads, and gave employees convenient online access to pay and benefits—resulting in simpler business operations and easier access to needed resources.
