Flagstaff United School District — a 15-school district serving about 9,800 students — faced mounting reporting challenges: its legacy CDD system was cumbersome, couldn’t pull together big data or dashboards, and was costing the district time and money. The district joined the beta for Cognos Reporting integrated with PowerSchool BusinessPLUS, which centralized data, simplified report creation, and enabled quick end-user training. Results included automated “time & effort” reporting that will save weeks of work for a single employee, faster ad-hoc reports (FTE and staffing data), reduced workload for IT, and a foundation for richer dashboards and future big-data decision-making.
