Exceeding Expectations for Ontario’s London District Catholic School Board

PowerSchool partnered with the London District Catholic School Board (LDCSB) — which serves 18,500 K–12 students across 54 schools in southwestern Ontario — to replace its legacy student information system. The board sought a modern, web-based SIS that would improve efficiency, increase parental engagement through portals, support mobile classroom tools for teachers, and meet Ontario’s provincial reporting requirements.

After implementing PowerSchool SIS in 2012, LDCSB adopted features such as parent/student portals, PowerTeacher tools, real-time mobile attendance, robust hosting, and customizable modules (including an ESL tracker). The result: exceeded initial goals, faster and more accurate provincial reporting, cost savings and reduced IT overhead through hosting, higher staff productivity, and positive user adoption driven by extensive training and ongoing enhancements.
