A PowerSchool Case Study
Clarke County Public Schools, a four-school district serving over 2,000 K–12 students in Berryville, Virginia, faced an inefficient, paper-based registration process that required mailing multi-page forms and re-keying handwritten data. Parents and staff were burdened by duplicate entries for families with multiple children and the risk of transcription errors that slowed administration and threatened data accuracy.
Working with PowerSchool Registration, the district implemented SmartForm™ technology to ask only relevant questions and let parents “snap” data from one child to another. The system was built, staff-trained, and launched in five weeks, eliminating manual data entry, increasing parent and staff satisfaction, and improving student safety—most notably enabling rapid care during a first-day medical emergency thanks to up-to-date records.
