A PowerSchool Case Study
Burnsville‑Eagan‑Savage School District 191 is a suburban Minnesota district serving about 9,000 students across 15 schools that entered 2010 with no 1:1 program, no learning management system, and little classroom technology. To redesign learning and make students "real‑world ready," the district launched Vision One91 and secured a 10‑year, $2.5 million levy to fund a technology rollout and a shift toward blended learning.
The district deployed Chromebooks and Schoology as an academic "home base" and partnered with Schoology’s professional‑development team to run a nine‑month, research‑based blended learning PD for teacher cohorts, starting with 15 teacher leaders and principal buy‑in. Teachers became internal trainers, customized and copied materials in Schoology for districtwide scaling, expanded the program to grades 6–12, and embedded culturally proficient practices — producing stronger teacher collaboration, growing enthusiasm and momentum, and measurable increases in student achievement.
