A PowerSchool Case Study
Alliance College‑Ready Public Schools is a Los Angeles‑based nonprofit charter network of 28 middle and high schools serving about 13,000 chiefly low‑income, first‑generation students of color. With a goal that 75% of graduates earn bachelor’s degrees, Alliance historically lacked a streamlined data system: KPIs were reviewed infrequently, data quality was uneven, and counselors struggled to keep students—many balancing family responsibilities—organized through the college‑application process.
Alliance implemented Naviance to track college‑readiness milestones and KPIs, using grade‑level tools like strengths exploration, resume building, college search, essay writing, and application tracking. The platform streamlined data collection and regular KPI sharing, created a more proactive, data‑driven culture, helped counselors monitor progress and identify students needing support, and enabled students to explore and apply to a broader range of colleges.
