Boerne Independent School District faced slow, paper-based hiring and onboarding that required in-office processing, was error-prone, and incurred rising supply costs—problems that became urgent when COVID-19 forced remote operations. The district needed a faster, more accurate, and fully online talent-management solution so applicants, new hires, and staff could complete processes from anywhere.
Boerne ISD implemented PowerSchool Unified Talent Applicant Tracking and Employee Records to automate and move the entire hiring and onboarding workflow online, enabling virtual reviews and interviews and automatic delivery of onboarding packets. The change saved about $8,000 in paper and postage (reinvested in recruiting), accelerated hiring so the district stayed ahead of 2020–21 staffing goals, and improved HR data accuracy and flexibility.
