A PowerSchool Case Study
Humble Independent School District (Humble ISD) in Humble, Texas serves 43 campuses and over 43,000 students and must meet state CCMR/CCLR requirements that students develop personal graduation plans (PGPs) and select endorsements by 9th grade. The district struggled with fragmented systems—students, counselors, and parents used multiple tools to build course plans, select endorsements, and approve plans—making it difficult to track progress and support each student’s postsecondary goals.
Humble ISD implemented Naviance by PowerSchool Course Planner, beginning student use in 5th grade, to align plans with Texas Education Agency standards, track CCLR indicators, and enable career exploration, endorsement selection, and parental review within one platform. Within the first year, 90% of middle and high school students had started course plans for the following year, streamlining workflows, improving forecasting for CTE programs, and giving counselors and district leaders a single system to track and measure outcomes.
