Newfield Central School District - Customer Case Study

Newfield Central School District, a rural district serving about 650 students in New York, was under financial stress and state scrutiny, with strained community trust and a budgeting process that was largely closed off. Working with PowerSchool’s Allovue Budget Suite, the district needed a better way to restore fiscal stability, improve transparency, and rebuild confidence among staff and voters.

PowerSchool implemented Allovue to make budgeting more collaborative and visible, giving principals real-time access to budgets, trends, and proposal tools through single sign-on. The results were significant: voter approval for the budget rose from 48% in 2024 to nearly 70% in 2025, restricted reserves grew from $1.4 million in 2021 to $9.4 million in 2025, and the district was removed from the state Comptroller’s watch list, lowering borrowing costs and enabling new investments in textbooks, music, CTE, and student support.
