Data-Driven Decisions Lift Student Performance at Anne Arundel County Public Schools

Anne Arundel County Public Schools, serving more than 80,000 students across 130 schools, faced several years of declining graduation rates and struggled with slow, fragmented reporting that made it hard to support students at scale. The district had long used PowerSchool’s Performance Matters platform, but needed a way to turn its data into faster, more actionable insights.

PowerSchool implemented Performance Matters Baseball Card reporting to combine nightly feeds from attendance, discipline, demographics, credits, GPA, and test scores into one clear view. With this real-time data, Anne Arundel launched Project Graduation, improved intervention tracking, and expanded AP access; results included nearly a 1-point increase in graduation rate, nearly 5 points of growth for multilingual learners, 3 points for economically disadvantaged students, and AP Honor Roll recognition for 8 of 14 schools.
