Metro Nashville Public Schools faced the challenge of distributing a $1.3 billion budget equitably across 137 schools using a fragile, error-prone Excel model that made resource decisions hard to explain. PowerSchool implemented Allovue to support a weighted student funding model, replacing complex spreadsheets with clear summaries, visual explanations, and faster scenario planning. As a result, MNPS can now show that $593 million is allocated to schools based on student needs, run budget scenarios in minutes instead of weeks, reduce confusion among principals, and gain better visibility into staffing and hidden costs.
