Back on Track with Connected Data at Harris County DOE

Harris County Department of Education’s Schools Division needed a better way to track and support students in alternative campuses, where information had to follow each student accurately across behavior, instruction, compliance, and evaluation needs. Using PowerSchool SIS, the team began expanding beyond basic scheduling and roster management to capture richer student data and better understand each student’s return-to-home-campus criteria.

PowerSchool helped HCDE connect its SIS with tools like PowerSchool Curriculum & Instruction, PowerSchool Performance Matters, PowerTeacher Pro, and PowerSchool Perform to create a more unified view of student progress and staff feedback. The result was faster, more data-informed interventions, stronger collaboration across campuses, and weekly conversations grounded in timely, accurate data, helping staff build actionable support plans for each student.
