St. Mary’s Standardizes Digital Learning, Saves Teachers 10+ Hours Weekly

St. Mary’s County Public Schools wanted to replace a patchwork of disconnected classroom tools with a more consistent, integrated digital learning environment for students, families, and staff. The district needed a “one-stop shop” for materials, assignments, and grades, with better integration to PowerSchool eSchoolPlus SIS and support for multiple learning models, including virtual and alternative programs.

PowerSchool’s Schoology Learning was implemented across grades 3–12 to centralize instruction, communication, and grading. The district standardized course design, streamlined onboarding, and integrated with other digital tools and PowerSchool systems, resulting in more equitable access and a measurable savings of at least 10 hours per teacher each week, plus improved work-life balance and easier access to learning for students and families.
