John F. Murphy Homes saves on monthly electricity bills with PowerMarket community solar

The customer, John F. Murphy Homes (JFM), is an organization that services children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a large organization with approximately 50 locations, it faced high utility costs and sought a way to realize savings while also supporting more environmentally friendly energy sources. They explored community solar with the vendor, PowerMarket, though they were initially skeptical about the process and potential hidden costs.

PowerMarket, in partnership with developer SunRaise, enrolled JFM as the largest subscriber to a new community solar project in Gardiner, Maine. The solution allowed JFM to claim a portion of the solar farm's output, which appears as credits on their electricity bill. By receiving these credits at a discount, JFM immediately began saving money on their monthly utility bills. The implementation provided the organization with a reliable source of renewable energy and achieved their dual goals of reducing operational costs and lessening their environmental impact.
