Bertucci’s Restaurant Energy Costs SiteSage Pays for Itself in Under 1 Year

Bertucci’s, a Massachusetts-based operator of Italian restaurants, needed to get rising energy costs under control while maintaining guest comfort and food safety. To tackle this, Bertucci’s piloted Powerhouse Dynamics’ SiteSage energy and asset management system to provide centralized HVAC monitoring and control, equipment diagnostics, and refrigerator temperature alerts across its stores.

Powerhouse Dynamics installed SiteSage in a three-store pilot (with additional rollouts planned) to monitor HVAC, refrigeration and foodservice equipment, enabling remote setpoint adjustments, real-time alerts and analytics to prioritize repairs. The pilot achieved a 12% reduction in electricity use, 9% reduction in natural gas, an 11‑month payback, and a planned chainwide rollout with Powerhouse Dynamics expected to save at least $600,000 per year.
