The Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services needed to modernize its outdated process for inspecting and licensing daycare facilities, which was hindered by a reliance on extensive paper checklists and manual data entry. The Ministry partnered with Powerfleet, using its FieldWorker solution, to automate dispatch, eliminate duplicate data entry, and significantly reduce the time required to complete and report on inspections.
Powerfleet implemented a custom FieldWorker application that integrated directly with the Ministry's existing Oracle and SMIS systems, accomplishing the project in a rapid six-week timeframe. The solution automated the entire inspection workflow, from dispatch to generating digital reports for sign-off, which drastically reduced paper storage and increased inspector productivity. The Ministry also benefited from gaining an internal platform and the knowledge to quickly deploy future mobile initiatives.
