Continental Tire Reduces Fleet & Increases Safety with Powerfleet Vehicle Management System

Continental Tire, a major manufacturing and warehouse operation in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, needed a better way to reduce industrial vehicle abuse, improve safety, and manage fleet use more efficiently. The company turned to Powerfleet and its Vehicle Management System (VMS) to gain control over vehicle activity, operator accountability, and maintenance processes across its large facility.

Powerfleet implemented a VMS with electronic safety checklists, utilization tracking, text messaging, and preventive maintenance tools. As a result, Continental improved safety and oversight, met fleet reduction goals within 4 months, and expected the system to pay for itself within one year. The company also eliminated one warehouse truck and three vacant positions, generating over $100,000 in savings, while forecasting a 33% improvement in vehicle-related damage costs.
