A PowerDMS Case Study
Yuma Police Department was struggling with an outdated, paper-based Field Training Officer Program: daily observation reports (DORs) took 3–5 days to process, generated over 1,000 loose documents a year, sat in sergeants’ trays, lacked uniform organization and formal hand-offs, and created privacy and liability risks for the agency.
By implementing PowerDMS, Lt. Robert Conley digitized and standardized the FTOP with a cloud-based filing system and automated, iterative workflows. DOR processing dropped to 1–2 hours, hand-offs between FTOs were formalized, feedback and discussions were tracked electronically, and training records became secure and instantly accessible—improving accountability, faster performance tracking, and reducing exposure to future legal risk.
