A PowerDMARC Case Study

Preview of the Kuwait Cyber Crime Department Case Study

Kuwait Cyber Crime Department - Customer Case Study

Kuwait Cyber Crime Department, part of Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, needed to strengthen national email and domain security as phishing, spoofing, and cybercrime incidents continued to rise. The department’s challenge was highlighted by a 2024 review showing widespread gaps in SPF, DMARC, MTA-STS, and DNSSEC adoption across 400 Kuwaiti domains, leaving many organizations vulnerable to impersonation attacks. PowerDMARC was positioned as the vendor helping address these email authentication and deliverability challenges.

PowerDMARC’s solution centered on improving email authentication adoption through its DMARC, SPF, DKIM, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT, BIMI, and reporting services, along with hosted and managed setup options. The case study reported that 77.75% of domains had correct SPF records, but 58.5% had no DMARC record, and none of the 400 domains had MTA-STS or DNSSEC enabled. By guiding organizations toward stronger policies and better configuration, PowerDMARC aimed to reduce phishing risk, improve deliverability, and help Kuwait move from monitoring-only DMARC to enforced protection.
