Power Factors Deploys Unity PPC for 1.5 GW Solar Project in EMEA

The largest solar PV plant, a massive 1.5 GW project in the EMEA region, required a power plant controller capable of managing its unprecedented scale and ensuring grid compliance. To meet this challenge, the facility partnered with Power Factors to deploy the Unity Power Plant Controller (PPC).

Power Factors implemented its Unity PPC in a primary-secondary configuration to control over 500 inverters and multiple STATCOMs. The solution provided reliable active and reactive power control with advanced automatic voltage regulation and built-in redundancy. This ensured the successful and continuous integration of the project into the grid, enabling it to generate enough clean electricity to power approximately 185,000 homes annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 2.9 million tons each year.
