How Gcc Created A Customized Intranet To Communicate With 2,580 Office & Field Staff

GCC, a French construction group with 50 operational entities and about 2,580 employees, needed to modernize business processes and overhaul an expensive, inflexible intranet to improve internal communication across offices and field sites while leveraging Microsoft 365. To include field workers, preserve autonomy for each entity, and centralize collaboration, GCC selected Powell Software—using Powell Intranet and Powell Manager after a successful proof of concept—to deliver a user-centric, customizable digital workplace.

Powell Software implemented Powell Intranet with Powell Manager integrated into Microsoft 365 and SharePoint, automating portal creation via Microsoft Flow and providing templates for group, entity and construction-site portals accessible in Teams and mobile. The rollout drove measurable impact: +86% adoption on Powell Intranet SharePoint portals, ~1,400 unique visitors per day, 119k entity news views in 2022, +20 contributions/month, and time savings for IT through automated site creation—delivering greater autonomy, better-informed field workers, reduced recurring requests and controlled governance.
