The manual process for removing FDM support material was slow, labor-intensive, and involved overnight drying, which delayed production and limited the company's ability to scale. To overcome this, J.W. Speaker partnered with PostProcess to find an automated solution.

By implementing the PostProcess BASE automated support removal solution, J.W. Speaker dramatically accelerated its post-printing process. Parts that once required overnight drying were ready in as little as 10 minutes, contributing to an overall 78% time savings. This automation, paired with a new Stratasys printer, also enabled an estimated annual cost savings of $60K–$75K by shifting from traditional machining to additive manufacturing and reducing labor and material waste.
