Childcare.co.uk, a marketplace connecting parents with childcare providers and tutors, faced delivery problems with critical transactional emails—particularly “New Message Received” notifications—which led to user complaints and missed messages. CTO Dave Marshall investigated alternative ESPs and tested Postmark’s delivery and open-tracking capabilities against Amazon SES to address these reliability issues.
Postmark was implemented for transactional email after a 50/50 split test showed an 11% higher open rate compared with SES. Based on that measurable improvement, Childcare.co.uk moved all transactional messages to Postmark, resolving delivery complaints and improving the reliability of user notifications.
