Postman Helps Gear4music Fully Integrate API Testing Throughout the Development Cycle

Gear4music, the U.K.'s largest online retailer of musical instruments, faced slow, developer‑driven API testing that often caught issues late in the cycle and delayed releases. To bring QA earlier into development and reduce costly late fixes, Gear4music’s expanded QA team of six adopted Postman, using features like Mock Servers, Collection Variables, and Workspaces to enable parallel test development and more consistent API validation.

Postman allowed the team to build comprehensive, reusable test suites ahead of code completion (switching environments from "mock" to "dev" when ready), map end‑to‑end scenarios into Collections and Workspaces, and avoid manual duplication with collection variables. The Returns API suite alone now contains 196 requests; results are logged in Jira and the overall impact is faster development cycles, higher cross‑team productivity, and fully integrated API testing throughout projects thanks to Postman.
