Case Study: HarperDB achieves streamlined API documentation, testing, and monitoring with Postman

A Postman Case Study

Preview of the HarperDB Case Study

HarperDB uses Postman Pro as an IDE for their product

HarperDB, a Denver-based single-model database that exposes functionality via microservices and a REST API, needed an easy way to demonstrate endpoints, keep API docs current, onboard developers, and verify stability across releases and public sites. To meet those needs they use Postman Pro as an integrated development environment (IDE) to showcase and validate their API.

Postman powers HarperDB’s workflow by letting them import collections in two clicks, automatically generate web-viewable documentation that updates with every collection change, and provide a quickstart with executable examples and code snippets. Developers write Postman tests for unit and integration checks (which must pass before submitting pull requests) and the CI system runs the full Postman test suite before builds. Multiple Postman monitors run every 15 minutes against public sites and alert the team via Slack on failures, delivering up-to-date docs, faster onboarding, continuous validation, and proactive uptime monitoring through Postman.
