BCD Travel, a top-five global corporate travel management company operating in 108 countries with US$24.6B in 2016 sales, needed to activate its large, distributed sales and account management teams on social media to stay top-of-mind during long 12–24 month sales cycles. They struggled with clumsy workflows (content in Word/Excel that employees didn’t share), employee hesitation (“I don’t know what to say” / “I don’t have time”), and poor tracking of reach and brand compliance.
PostBeyond and BCD launched “BCD Buzz,” pairing Social Media 101 workshops and region-specific platform training with a curated advocacy program that hand-picks active users and encourages content suggestions. In the first 10 months the program generated 17,000+ shares, 100,000+ interactions and $243K in earned media (over 10x pilot ROI), while improving content curation, engagement and brand oversight; plans now include wider rollout and deeper revenue attribution via Pardot and Salesforce.
