BioBuilder Brings Posit Tools to High School Bioengineers

BioBuilder, a non-profit educational foundation, faced the challenge of adapting its hands-on, team-based bioengineering curriculum for remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. They needed an online solution that could maintain their core goals of teaching legitimate biotechnology skills, meaningful data analysis, and professional communication. BioBuilder turned to Posit and its Posit Cloud platform to help power this transition.

By integrating Posit Cloud, BioBuilder created online courses where students use industry-standard tools for data analysis and visualization. Students accessed instructor-developed R Markdown files to perform their own analyses and create visualizations for synthetic biology projects. The solution empowered over 2000 students from more than three countries, providing them with real-world, transferable data science skills for their future academic and professional careers.
