AstraZeneca trains 1,100+ R users with Posit PBC

AstraZeneca, a global pharmaceutical company, sought to drive a paradigm shift by expanding the use of R beyond its traditional SAS-based workflows to accelerate research and development. To meet this challenge, they partnered with Posit to provide comprehensive training and empower a large, global user base across various functions, including biometrics and bioinformatics.

Through Posit Academy, AstraZeneca delivered extensive R training, achieving over 700 instructor-led and 250 online course placements. This initiative, implemented by Posit, successfully trained and empowered more than 1,100 R users. The results were a vibrant internal R community and measurable impacts on ways of working, with 59% of participants reporting improved coding skills and 50% reporting an improved ability to handle data six months after training. This empowered workforce is now accelerating the discovery of molecular targets and the delivery of life-changing medicines.
