Case Study: Wales Millennium Centre achieves cloud NAC and full network visibility with Portnox CLEAR

Major Events Venue Moves from On-Prem to Cloud NAC as Part of Digital Transformation

Wales Millennium Centre (WMC), Wales' national arts centre in Cardiff Bay that seats nearly 2,500, was undertaking a digital transformation to move legacy on‑prem systems to the cloud while tightening cybersecurity. A long‑time user of Portnox CORE (on‑prem NAC) since 2012, WMC faced limited visibility and control across numerous wired ports and a freely accessible guest Wi‑Fi, leaving the public venue’s network vulnerable to unauthorized access.

Portnox migrated WMC to Portnox CLEAR, its cloud NAC‑as‑a‑Service, giving the venue centralized, cloud‑managed visibility and policy enforcement—allowing staff to "simply login and see exactly who is on the network, via which access layer, their device type." Portnox CLEAR was also extended to VPN access during COVID‑19, securing remote workers and eliminating blind spots; the result was improved security posture, greater operational agility, stable uptime and easier management from anywhere.
