Onclusive consolidates five mergers with Porter and right-sizes containers down to 1MB RAM

Onclusive, a company that provides media analytics insights to PR and communications teams, faced significant challenges after undergoing multiple mergers. They were using Heroku, but its lack of granular scaling led to underutilized, expensive dynos and concerns over platform stability. Their need to consolidate technology from five merged companies and gain more control over their infrastructure prompted the search for a new solution, leading them to the vendor Porter.

Porter provided Onclusive with a platform to deploy and manage applications on their own AWS EKS clusters. This solution offered the granular scaling of Kubernetes, allowing them to right-size containers to exact memory and CPU needs, which drastically reduced cloud spend compared to Heroku. The results included a major increase in development velocity, with features like preview environments empowering developers. Porter also enabled custom autoscaling that required less adjustment and is now being used to build a unified internal platform that consolidates all their disparate services.
