Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM), Malaysia's national telecommunications services provider, faced the challenge of migrating its obsolete iTALK prepaid calling card service, which served nearly 500,000 customers, to a new platform. The primary goals were to replace the legacy system with PortaOne's PortaSwitch, preserve all desired functionalities with no impact on existing users, and enable new promotional campaigns.
PortaOne successfully executed the data migration by first analyzing TM's requirements and then developing custom solutions, including a localized IVR flow in Malay and a customized CDR file format. The migration was meticulously planned and performed during off-peak hours to minimize downtime. As a result, PortaOne seamlessly replaced the service platform within the planned budget and timeframe, allowing TM to maintain its user base and create new campaigns to attract customers.
