Case Study: SygmaTel expands retail telecom services with PortaOne’s PortaSwitch

A PortaOne Case Study

SygmaTel expands retail telecom services across 3 continents with PortaOne

SygmaTel, an Egyptian telecommunications company, sought to expand from its wholesale business into the competitive retail telecom market. Their challenge was to build a differentiating retail service capable of supporting a wide array of customer-centric offerings, including some that were not yet invented. To achieve this, SygmaTel turned to vendor PortaOne and implemented its all-in-one PortaSwitch platform, which combines a softswitch and billing system.

The PortaOne solution provided SygmaTel with a versatile infrastructure powered by open APIs, enabling them to develop and launch their new SygmaFone retail service. This service supports voice calls, text chat, SMS, top-up, and money transfer services, providing significant added value. The integrated PortaBilling module also streamlined customer management. As a result, SygmaTel gained a flexible platform for future growth, including planned video and cloud applications, allowing them to offer these services to customers globally over the internet.
