A1, a telco based in the Netherlands, was facing a challenge where customers wanted Microsoft Teams' collaboration tools but were deterred by the high cost of its full phone system licensing. This demand was causing A1 to lose clients. To address this, A1 sought a solution that could integrate with Microsoft Teams using PortaSwitch from vendor PortaOne.
PortaOne provided a solution by integrating PortaSwitch's flexible IP PBX with Microsoft Teams via an Audiocodes SBC for direct routing. This allowed A1's customers to only pay for Microsoft licenses for some users while keeping others on a more cost-effective SIP phone system, with all users fully connected. The results for A1 were significant, including retaining at-risk customers, winning new business, and generating new revenue streams shortly after the product's launch.
