Kuyper College’s Quick, One-man Implementation

Kuyper College, a small Christian institution in Michigan, faced a legacy administrative system that was nearly unusable—dependent on Internet Explorer/ActiveX, prone to frequent reinstalls, full of staff workarounds, and offering poor student portal access. After evaluating alternatives and concerns about hidden costs and heavy customization needs elsewhere, Kuyper selected Populi as its web-based student information solution because of its interface, pricing, support, and student access.

Populi’s data migration and support teams helped Kuyper complete a largely one-person implementation (led by Darwin Glassford) between March and August 2020, during which Kuyper cleaned up longstanding academic-data issues and used Populi’s API to connect financial aid and admissions systems. The result: in roughly five months Kuyper dropped an expensive, nearly unusable system for Populi, streamlined operations, restored reliable student access, and avoided the need for a full-time developer or extensive customizations.
