Western Union needed to scale its retail digital signage program quickly while making screen management easier. It also wanted to deliver localized information such as foreign exchange rates and fees at thousands of locations, rather than showing generic content, and it needed the new platform to work with its existing screens.

Western Union selected Poppulo to help build the solution, working with Kiosk Information Systems on the hardware. Poppulo enabled dynamic, point-of-sale-based content and general marketing messages across 2,000 Agent locations in one year, and Western Union said it saved almost $1M in hardware while updating local rates and fees with no manual intervention.
