Improving Patient & Employee Comms Across Adventist Health’s Hospital Network

Adventist Health, a nonprofit integrated health system serving more than 80 communities across the West Coast and Hawaii, turned to Poppulo in 2014 for digital signage at a California hospital. As the network grew, the team faced manual, time-consuming updates, long training requirements, and a bottleneck where all content requests had to go through one person. Adventist Health needed a simpler way to let local contributors manage screens across its hospital system.

Poppulo’s Harmony Signage Cloud enabled Adventist Health to migrate to a cloud-based approach in early 2021 and distribute 20 licenses to contributors in different locations. After the move, Jen Jacobs said she could fix screen issues from her phone, monthly content updates were reduced by 16 hours, and new screens were added in weeks instead of months. The health system now has 195 screens across 20 of its 26 markets, has cut tens of thousands of dollars in printing costs, and uses the network for patient and employee communications, recognition, wayfinding, directories, and other use cases.
