The University of Strathclyde, a Glasgow-based public research university with over 22,000 students and 3,000 faculty, faced fragmented internal communications: a single weekly Outlook email, no intranet, no strategy, and no way to measure engagement. With a new Head of Internal Communications working alone, the university turned to Poppulo’s internal communications solution to modernize channels and gain visibility into staff engagement.
Using Poppulo, the team launched a weekly newsletter and a daily buzz email built with a drag-and-drop editor, centralizing communications and saving the lone communicator significant time. Poppulo also delivered measurable insights—open rates and click-through rates—that leadership now uses to track engagement, and the platform proved critical for timely COVID-19 updates after its January 30, 2019 implementation.
